Milliken Hospitality Expands On Award Winning Étage Collections
Milliken Hospitality will launched a new collection at HD Boutique this fall. LucerneTM is a continuation of the award winning designs launched at Hospitality Design Expo this spring.
This collection incorporates the layering expertise of Étage, which was first introduced at the 2006 HD Expo and captured the IIDA Best of Competition Product Award. Like the other collections, these designs were created for customization. This process builds a complex pattern, layer by layer. Creating a fully custom look is as simple as choosing and combining layers. Étage technology brings a freedom of design never before known in the hospitality industry.
With Lucerne, the goal was to create a design package that is current and contemporary, yet embedded in tradition. Throughout the package you will find traditional ornaments interwoven with interesting shapes, textures, and contemporary themes. The designs combine classic, simple motifs in a fresh way. The color palette supports the design intent and is subtle yet sophisticated. Rich chocolate browns are paired with cool shades of clean blues and fresh greens. For added pop, the cool shades are contrasted with warm accents of pumpkin and cranberry.
“Design possibilities are virtually endless”, says Kaye Gosline, Milliken Floor Covering Creative Director. “Every designer wants to inject their own unique touch to a project, but few actually have the time to do it. This product and all of our étage lines allow the designer to customize easily.”
Each collection includes small-, medium- and large-scale elements for ultimate flexibility in defining rugs, runners and open areas. Designers can combine broadloom and modular and get the best of both. Lucerne will be available on tufted, patterned, cut-pile and textured broadloom carpets constructed with Type 6, 6 Nylon fibers as well as the modular format of Grand Plaza Nylon, and Grand Plaza Wool. Broadloom is available in 32, 36, 42 and 50 ounce cut pile constructions as well as 32 and 36 ounce multi-level loop constructions. The collection will also be offered on Milliken’s new textured ‘Strato’ construction in 32 and 36 ounce broadloom and 32 ounce modular, making use of Milliken’s ConvergenceTM technology. Convergence integrates pattern and color into the structure of the carpet to create designs with incredible dimensionality. Convergence captured the Best Product Design Award in the Flooring, Carpeting and Carpet Systems category at HD expo in May.
StainSmartTM, Milliken’s stain and soil resistance technology, is a standard performance enhancement on all Milliken Performer® products. AlphaSan® also is incorporated for long-lasting antimicrobial protection. This protection inhibits odors caused by mold and mildew. ColorSeal® bleach resistance and attached cushion pad are also available. The carpets carry a 10-year wear, stain and soil, and bleach protection warranty.
Lucerne’s modular option offers all the flexibility designers have come to expect from Milliken modular carpet, including easy transportation and storage, simplified installation and disruption-free maintenance. Manufactured with an integrated cushion backing ensures underfoot comfort and extended appearance retention as well as up to 35% recycled content. Lucerne also offers the option of TractionBack®, a bio-based, adhesive-free backing system. As with all Milliken products, Lucerne is free of PVC and chlorine.
